WALLS OF JERICHO Unleashes “True Til’ Death” Ahead of First Album in a Decade

Detroit hardcore veterans WALLS OF JERICHO has released “True Til’ Death,” the third preview of its long-awaited new album, System Error: Humanity, due Nov. 13. The record marks the band’s first full-length release in a decade.

Following comeback tracks “The Ascent” and “Agency,” “True Til’ Death” drives straight into the band’s hardcore roots, combining heavy breakdowns, forceful riffs and Candace Buckingham’s unmistakable vocal attack. The song deals with turning the anger once used simply to survive into something constructive rather than allowing it to collapse into hopelessness.

“‘True Til’ Death’ is about facing the inner turmoil that once served you as a way to survive, and learning to turn it into fuel,” Buckingham said. “It’s choosing positive aggression over hopelessness, using that pain to keep fighting.”

System Error: Humanity expands that sense of confrontation across 15 tracks. The album moves between the blunt-force hardcore of songs such as “Untouchable” and more thrash-driven material including “The Flame” and “Agency,” while its lyrics address self-determination, reclamation and human rights.

The record also brings in several guests. LAMB OF GOD vocalist Randy Blythe appears on “Broken Mouths Can’t Speak,” while THE RED CHORD’s Guy Kozowyk guests on “Humanity.” Patsy Puopolo and Matthew Ruby appear on “A Brighter Fire.” CONVERGE guitarist Kurt Ballou produced the album.

SYSTEM ERROR: HUMANITY track listing: “True Til’ Death,” “Beginning,” “The Flame,” “The Ascent,” “Broken Mouths Can’t Speak” featuring Randy Blythe, “Untouchable,” “Rise,” “Agency,” “Unchained,” “The End Before,” “Humanity” featuring Guy Kozowyk, “Borrowed Ground,” “Last Judgement,” “A Brighter Fire” featuring Patsy Puopolo and Matthew Ruby, and “The Reckoning.”

WALLS OF JERICHO will head to Europe beginning Nov. 6, with dates in Germany, the U.K. and France running through Nov. 14.
