THROWN Drops “unwanted” Ahead of New Album UNWANTED

Swedish heavy band THROWN has released “unwanted,” the latest single from its upcoming sophomore album, UNWANTED, due Nov. 6 through Arising Empire.
The compact new track combines THROWN’s hardcore aggression, nu-metal influence and groove-heavy approach with a more inward-looking lyrical focus. “Unwanted” deals with mistakes, accountability and self-reflection without backing away from the confrontational sound that has driven the band’s rapid ascent.
The song follows previously released UNWANTED tracks “split,” “rehearsed” and “critic.”
The new album arrives as THROWN continues to build on significant growth since releasing its five-song debut EP, EXTENDED PAIN, in 2022. The EP has surpassed 50 million streams, while 2024 debut album EXCESSIVE GUILT helped push the band further into the international heavy music circuit.
THROWN now has more than 1.5 million monthly Spotify listeners and has accumulated more than 100 million streams worldwide.
The band has also become an increasingly prominent touring act, sharing stages with KNOCKED LOOSE, FIT FOR A KING, COUNTERPARTS, WHILE SHE SLEEPS and WAGE WAR while developing its own headline audience.
That growth has translated into industry recognition as well. THROWN was named Best Breakthrough Live Artist at the 2024 Heavy Music Awards, followed by a Best Breakthrough Album win in 2025 for EXCESSIVE GUILT.
THROWN consists of vocalist Marcus Lundqvist, guitarists Johan Liljeblad and Andreas Malm, and drummer and producer Buster Odeholm.
The band is currently finishing a North American run, with remaining U.S. dates in Kansas City, Birmingham, Jacksonville, Tampa, Greenville and Greensboro. THROWN returns to Europe later this month before beginning a larger European and UK run in November and December.
An Australian tour is scheduled for February.
