THE ACTIONS Push Into Heavier Territory With New Single “Container”

Bristol alt-electronic duo THE ACTIONS have opened the campaign for their next full-length album with “Container,” a dense collision of low-tuned guitars, modular electronics and confrontational vocals.

The track is the first single from an as-yet-untitled album expected in spring 2027 through Barcelona-based No Where Records, which recently signed the band. “Container” followed the duo’s previous single, “Take More,” and was released Sept. 25.

Rather than separating their electronic and rock influences, THE ACTIONS push the two directly against one another. Bass-heavy verses and spoken-word passages give way to aggressive choruses driven by distorted vocals, heavy rhythm work and guitars cutting through layers of synth.

That tension mirrors the subject matter. “Container” deals with the psychological overload created by a constant stream of information and the resulting anxiety, hostility and loss of perspective. The band frames the song less as resignation than as an argument for personal agency in the middle of that noise.

“The new album is pretty challenging; we didn’t set out to comfort listeners,” THE ACTIONS said. “It is a direct child of the reality we’ve been thrown into.”

The duo added that stepping away from the barrage can restore some sense of control.

“We have to remember we have the power to decide,” they said. “If you take a step back from it all for a minute, things immediately start to come into focus.”

A video accompanying “Container” carries the same idea into a nocturnal urban setting. An unidentified driver in a red Mustang GT350 races through city streets and motorways, functioning as a visual representation of unpredictability and the choices made while moving through it.

The coming album will be THE ACTIONS’ first release through No Where Records and continues the duo’s blend of rock, electronics and socially focused songwriting. The band has previously opened for GARBAGE and THE DISTILLERS and has received support from BBC and Radio X presenters including Tom Robinson, Gary Crowley, James Threlfall and John Kennedy.

“Container” is available now on streaming platforms.
