Chicago noise-rock trio SALVATION will release its fifth album, The Haunted, Oct. 16 through Reptilian Records, delivering another round of blown-out riffs, hooks and feedback while pulling blues, Americana, punk and alternative rock deeper into the band's sound.

The 10-track record follows 2022’s Mock and continues SALVATION’s relationship with Reptilian after the band's first three albums — Royal Fucks, Sore Loser and Year Of The Fly — were issued through Forge Again Records.

On The Haunted, guitarist and vocalist Jason Sipe, bassist Victor Riley and drummer Brian Wnukowski retain the abrasive noise-rock foundation that has driven SALVATION since its first album arrived in 2015. But the new material isn't built solely around dissonance and volume. Melody and groove remain central to the band's attack, with the trio working elements of bluesy Americana, punk and alternative rock into its heavier framework.

That combination has long placed SALVATION somewhere between the melodic destruction of NIRVANA and the uglier end of the American noise-rock tradition, with the stripped-down three-piece configuration leaving considerable space for Riley's bass, Wnukowski's drums and Sipe's guitar feedback to collide.

The Haunted was recorded in Chicago across two studios. Taylor Hales recorded sessions at Electrical Audio, while Erik Rasmussen handled additional recording at Palisade Studios before mixing and mastering the album.

The record arrives four years after Mock, which further established SALVATION within the contemporary noise-rock underground following releases dating back more than a decade.

Artwork for The Haunted incorporates photography from Ceyda Tekin, Brian Santostefano and Arman Mabry, with SWZ handling the back-cover photography and layout.
