PARKWAY DRIVE Announces HOME — Live At The Sydney Opera House

PARKWAY DRIVE will release HOME — Live At The Sydney Opera House on Dec. 4 through Epitaph, capturing the Australian metal band's sold-out orchestral performance at one of its home country's most famous venues.

The album also serves as the soundtrack to the forthcoming concert film PARKWAY DRIVE: HOME, produced by Mushroom Studios. The first performance released from the project is “Prey.”
Rather than reproducing the massive pyrotechnic arena production that has become a hallmark of PARKWAY DRIVE shows, the Sydney Opera House performance put the band's catalog in an entirely different setting. The five musicians performed alongside a full symphony orchestra, with selected songs also featuring guest performers.
The one-night production represented a significant undertaking for the band. PARKWAY DRIVE self-funded the show at a cost described as comparable to staging an entire European arena tour, despite the Opera House performance accommodating only about 2,000 seated guests. Tickets reportedly sold out within three minutes.
The performance also brought the band's career full circle. Formed in Byron Bay, Australia, PARKWAY DRIVE has spent more than two decades growing from the Australian heavy-music underground into an international arena and festival headliner.
HOME includes material spanning the band's catalog, with “Carrion,” “Horizons,” “Wild Eyes,” “Crushed,” “Darker Still,” “The Void” and “A Deathless Song” among the 20 performances. The latter features Jenna McDougall, while Nooky appears on “Shadow Boxing” and Matthew Doyle guests on the opening “Welcome to Country.”
