FINGER ELEVEN Expands ‘Last Night on Earth’ With Deluxe Edition, Launches Global Duet Search
FINGER ELEVEN will expand its latest album, Last Night on Earth, with a deluxe edition arriving Nov. 6 through Better Noise Music, adding demos, live performances and alternate material to the record.
Ahead of the release, the Canadian hard-rock veteran has issued a four-version maxi-single built around the album’s title track and launched an unusual open call for another artist to reinterpret the song alongside the band.
The #F11LastNightDuet campaign invites singers and other artists to add vocals or remix the instrumental, with participants encouraged to alter lyrics or arrangements rather than simply duplicate the existing recording.
“We have always loved the idea of turning ‘Last Night on Earth’ into a duet,” vocalist Scott Anderson said. “Putting the #F11LastNightDuet idea out to the artist community and leaving the creative boundaries open is key.”
Anderson said FINGER ELEVEN specifically wants participants to bring their own musical identity to the track.
“We hope artists will bring their own style and emotion — whether by adding lyrics, adjusting the arrangement, or working within the existing framework,” he said. “I have no idea what to expect, and that’s exactly what I love about it.”
The expanded Last Night on Earth grows to 18 tracks, adding two demos and an instrumental version of the title track along with live acoustic recordings of “First Time” and “One Thing,” a live version of “Living in a Dream” and “Bones and Joints II.”
The deluxe edition also includes a version of “Blue Sky Mystery” featuring FILTER.
Last Night on Earth opened another chapter for FINGER ELEVEN, whose catalog includes “Paralyzer” and “One Thing.” The album produced No. 1 rock singles “Adrenaline” and “The Mountain,” while the band has surpassed 1 billion career streams.
The current lineup features Anderson on vocals, James Black on lead guitar and backing vocals, Rick Jackett on rhythm guitar, Sean Anderson on bass and Steve Molella on drums.
FINGER ELEVEN will spend much of the coming months on the road. The band begins a 12-city U.K. run with SOIL on Oct. 30 in Brighton, with stops including Glasgow, Nottingham, Manchester and Bristol before concluding Nov. 14 at London's Electric Ballroom.
A Canadian leg of the Last Night on Earth tour begins March 3, 2027, in Thunder Bay, Ontario, and continues through early April.
