Cowpunks NINE POUND HAMMER Return With New Album

LEXINGTON, KY — Kentucky cowpunk pioneers Nine Pound Hammer will release a new six-song mini-album, "Too Outlaw For Outlaw Country," on July 10 through Reptilian Records.

The limited-edition release will be available digitally and as a 10-inch vinyl picture disc. The project serves as a precursor to a full-length rock album slated for 2027.

The record features new original tracks written by the songwriting duo of Scott Luallen and Blaine Cartwright, alongside country covers. The band recorded the project at Underground Studios with engineer Brian Pulito, who co-produced the sessions alongside the group. The release features the core lineup of Luallen, Cartwright, Earl Crim, Mark Hendricks and Josh Love, with guest contributions from John Haywood, Ian Thomas and Sherri McGee.

To support the release, Nine Pound Hammer is launching an international tour through the U.S. Midwest and Europe. Following a hometown kickoff in Lexington, the band will travel overseas for club dates in Norway and the Netherlands. The European leg includes a performance at the Sjock Festival in Belgium, where the band will share the lineup with Joan Jett and the Blackhearts and L7. The group will return to the U.S. for October concert dates in Ohio and Michigan.

Preorders for the vinyl picture disc and digital presaves are available through Reptilian Records and official band channels. Tickets are on sale now, and fans can view the full schedule online to catch Nine Pound Hammer live on tour this summer and fall.
