CORROSION OF CONFORMITY Added to Mojave Experience 2027 Lineup
C.O.C. is heading to the high desert!
The Raleigh, North Carolina heavy music champions have been added to the 2027 Mojave Experience, set for March 19-21 in Joshua Tree, California. The festival describes the event as three days of heavy desert sound, art, culture and community under the open sky, with additional artists and headliners still to be announced.
C.O.C. joins a first wave that already includes RED FANG, BRANT BJORK TRIO, BIG SCENIC NOWHERE, HEAVY TEMPLE, YAWNING BALCH, DEATHCHANT, SASQUATCH, FATSO JETSON, UNIDA, MONDO GENERATOR, EARTHLINGS?, 20 WATT TOMBSTONE, SONS OF ARRAKIS, MAGICK POTION, HIGH DESERT QUEEN and BLACK MOON CULT.
The announcement comes as CORROSION OF CONFORMITY continues an especially active year surrounding its new double album, Good God / Baad Man.
The band recently completed another North American leg in support of the record, beginning July 6 in Houston and running through July 22 in Lincoln, Nebraska. The run crossed Texas and the Southwest before heading through California, the Pacific Northwest, Vancouver, Boise and Denver. It followed an extensive spring North American tour, as well as a June run through the United Kingdom and Europe. C.O.C. then returned overseas in August for appearances at Wacken Open Air, Brutal Assault and PALP Festival.
That considerable road work is supporting one of the most ambitious records in the band’s catalog.
Good God / Baad Man was released April 3 through Nuclear Blast Records, eight years after 2018’s No Cross No Crown. The 14-song double album was produced by Grammy Award-winning producer Warren Riker, whose history with the C.O.C. orbit includes work with DOWN, and was recorded at Blak Shak Studios in Mississippi, Dockside Studios in Maurice, Louisiana, and Barry Gibb’s studio in Miami. New Orleans artist Scott Guion created the album artwork.
The album features Pepper Keenan on guitar and vocals, Woody Weatherman on guitar, Bobby Landgraf on bass and Stanton Moore on drums. Moore’s participation marks another chapter in a relationship that stretches back to C.O.C.’s 2005 album In the Arms of God.
Good God / Baad Man is deliberately constructed as two distinct halves rather than simply a long collection of songs. Keenan has described Good God as the heavier and more pissed-off side of the record, while Baad Man leans further into the band’s loose, swaggering rock ’n’ roll instincts. Producer Warren Riker jokingly referred to the project during its creation as “Dark Side of the Doom.”
The result stretches across a considerable amount of C.O.C.’s musical vocabulary. The album moves through hardcore aggression, doom, Southern rock, heavy blues, acoustic textures and the enormous groove that has become one of the band’s most recognizable signatures.
Good God opens with “Good God? / Final Dawn” and includes “You Or Me,” the furious “Gimme Some Moore,” “The Handler,” “Bedouin’s Hand” and “Run For Your Life.”
The Baad Man half begins with its title track and continues through “Lose Yourself,” “Mandra Sonos,” “Asleep On The Killing Floor,” “Handcuff County,” “Swallowing The Anchor,” “Brickman” and album closer “Forever Amplified.”
For a band whose history has moved from the hardcore attack of Eye for an Eye and Animosity through Blind, Deliverance, Wiseblood, America’s Volume Dealer and In the Arms of God, the breadth of Good God / Baad Man feels less like a stylistic departure than C.O.C. taking advantage of everything it has accumulated over more than four decades.
The Mojave Experience booking should put that material in particularly appropriate surroundings.
Joshua Tree occupies near-mythic territory in desert-rock culture, and Mojave Experience has built its identity around the intersection of heavy music and the landscape that helped give desert rock its character. The festival’s 2026 edition included EARTHLESS, DEAD MEADOW, JOHN GARCIA, ACID KING, YAWNING MAN, HIPPIE DEATH CULT, ECSTATIC VISION, HOWLING GIANT and others.
Now CORROSION OF CONFORMITY joins that lineage in the California desert.
And the 2027 lineup is still growing.
Mojave Experience says more artists and headliners will be announced ahead of the March 19-21 gathering.
