AMENAZAR Confronts Emotional Distance on New Single “Caroline”

Kansas City rock band AMENAZAR has released “Caroline,” a new single centered on the point where pursuing an increasingly distant relationship stops being enough.

Released Sept. 18, “Caroline” explores the push and pull of trying to maintain a connection with someone who continues to retreat — and the eventual realization that wanting another person to stay cannot make that person stay.

The track continues AMENAZAR’s guitar-driven approach to Midwest rock, combining melody and heavier dynamics with emotionally direct songwriting.

Based in Kansas City, Missouri, AMENAZAR consists of vocalist Scott Foulk, guitarists Bruce Condon, Dennis Mendoza and Chad O’Callaghan, bassist Brandon Daniels and drummer Everett Jonas.

The six-piece draws on years of shared history and friendship, building its music around layered guitars, strong rhythms and songs informed by personal experience rather than separating heaviness from melody.

With “Caroline,” that approach is directed toward a familiar but difficult moment: recognizing when reaching harder for someone only seems to push that person farther away.

“Caroline” is available now on major streaming platforms.
